Day 4: Solola, Guatemala

Sixteen women traveled from the United States to serve 100 women from Guatemala. There was music, and teaching, and celebration. There were prayers and hugs and long conversations.

And then, two women quietly disappeared.

Their hands chose to serve the three cooks who labored in a hot kitchen. 116 plates, washed in a concrete pila by the dim light of a bare bulb. 116 “I see you” whispers to the ones who live in the background.

Who lives in your background? Who needs to be seen? I pray I see more.
