Breathe, lovely

Yesterday, I checked so many things off my list. Yesterday, the little achiever in me was smiling. • Today, I started and stepped away from at least four projects. I wrote and deleted hundreds of words. Today, I cursed the calendar and then cursed myself. • Don’t get me wrong. I achieved things. I fixed some things and worked on some things and I made these two things – a pie and a cobbler. I didn’t need to make them. I just wanted to do good with my hands for a bit. You know, #kitchentherapy. • But, the things I had decided were the important things today? Today, the little achiever in me is feeling pretty worthless. • So, I’m giving her a pep talk. I’m letting her know that life is more than the list she makes in her head. I’m encouraging her to celebrate the wins she didn’t plan. I’m whispering in her ear, “Breathe, lovely.” I’m reminding her that she needs to receive the grace she so often extends. • And then, I’m telling her to step away and have fun with her hubby. And maybe eat a piece of pie. • (If you’re an achiever and need to check things off a list to feel worthwhile, this encouragement is for you too. Now, breathe, lovely. We’re going to be just fine. ❤️) • #amwriting #WP #MyJubilee #kitchentherapy
