Hey there Littles. I love you so much. I love how every day is filled with wonder for you, and I pray every day of your life offers more and more of it. You’ve taught me well with your wonder. And I want to keep being taught – always. Will you do that? Will you keep teaching GiGi?
Here’s something I’ve learned – something I want you to never forget too.
It’s Tuesday.
And Christ is risen.
Easter has long come and gone. All your candy has been eaten and your baskets put away. Chances are, mommy and daddy are STILL finding wrappers tucked away in secret places.
And Christ is risen.
Not had risen. Or was risen. But is risen.
Jesus is always present.
After His crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection, Jesus was present. He showed up on a beach and prepared fish and biscuits for Peter. He showed up on a country road and walked for two hours with disciples who thought He was gone for good. Then he served them a good meal, just to remind them how much He loved them.
After his death, he presented himself alive to them in many different settings… Acts 1
Jesus presents Himself ALIVE. That’s the power of the Gospel. He shows up. He shows up to those who believe they know what to expect – and blows them away. He shows up to those who think they’ve messed everything up – and repairs them. He shows up to those who think they have the answers – and redefines them. He walks the road with those who are trying to figure it all out – and never judges or condemns.
He makes breakfast for the one who denies. He breaks bread with those who are trying to understand who He is. He meets the scoffer face-to-face on the road. He never shies away. He never runs away. He presents Himself ALIVE. He shows up and keeps showing up. He makes Himself known.
Today, my Littles. And all the tomorrows. In your lives. Jesus presents Himself alive. Jesus shows up.
It’s Tuesday.
And Christ is risen.
xoxo
