Day 15: Jinja, Uganda

We listened to the symphony of birdsong under the brilliant Ugandan morning sky at the guest house where he worked as a guard. He told me about the doves that sound like drumbeats, and we did our best to spot bursts of color hiding in the trees.

And then he told me a story, about a man who robbed a pastor at gunpoint. The pastor was fearless in the face of danger – rather than run or fight, he told the man about Jesus. And he forgave him.

And then, he hired him. To work at the guest house.

That’s what grace does. I long to be grace-full.

Where have you seen grace?
