I’m thinking about you today, wherever you are. The winds have whipped us hard about and have moved you far away from me. But today I am thinking of you. And I love you and I love us and I love what we are becoming.

Because we are becoming complete.

When the trials are there and the attacks are hard and it feels like we are pieces scattered in senseless piles, we are still becoming. The very thing that feels like craven fear is the thing that moves us closer to the God who believes in our overcoming. He is ever-faithful to our step after step, He is ever-attentive to our falters and falls, He is ever-true to our longing and our languishing. And today, He is listening so carefully to our wonders and our words and our what if this is all there is and where is there to go but here. He knows the battle of our becoming.

Listen now, love. Listen to Him. He’s speaking. “What I have hidden in you will be made known. It cannot be unknown now. Watch me work.” And His work is unlike the toil of labor that wearies and wears. It does not care about our station or vocation or whether our skin is like milk or mocha.

God says we are to be celebrated and we are to become. And His delight in us is found in the crown that He places on the heads of those who are faithful to the step after step. He calls us life. The wind has whipped us hard about and you are so far away, but we are still together in the remembering that we are in this together and He is in this with us. God does not change, love, no matter where this finds you. He will not change. He holds the crown, and He is speaking. So, let’s keep becoming, you and me. And when we are brought together again, our becoming shall become our celebration.
