Day 37: Six weeks. 4000 miles. Four states.
Two holidays.
Two birthdays.
One anniversary.
Two Thanksgiving dinners.
One Thanksgiving breakfast.
One cup of cornbread dressing.
One afternoon with the homeless.
One tree-lighting party.
One dream-filled meeting.
One nostalgic afternoon.
One fundraising lunch.
One potluck.
One lip-sync video.
Six celebrations with strangers turned friends. Or maybe seven. Or eight. Because I lost count.
It’s been a busy season, to be sure. Calendar days cracked and pouring into other days that are already filled with responsibilities and obligations and privileges. I am exhausted.
And yet, I would do it all again. Because THIS:
Every destination was a person. Every moment was together. Every celebration was community. Oh, how beautifully we are built for belonging. How wonderfully we are made for each other.
Please don’t forget that, love. Please don’t let this world tell you otherwise.
We are made for each other.
(Oh yeah, there was this one too).
