Shoot like a Girl | Belonging

Day 37: Six weeks. 4000 miles. Four states.

Two holidays.

Six weddings.

Two birthdays.

One anniversary.

One tattoo.

Two special houseguests.

Two Thanksgiving dinners.

One Thanksgiving breakfast.

One cup of cornbread dressing.

One afternoon with the homeless.

Two tree-decorating moments.

One tree-lighting party.

One dream-filled meeting.

One nostalgic afternoon.

One pinecone hunt.

One fundraising lunch.

One potluck.

One rich podcast.

One lip-sync video.

Six celebrations with strangers turned friends. Or maybe seven. Or eight. Because I lost count.

It’s been a busy season, to be sure. Calendar days cracked and pouring into other days that are already filled with responsibilities and obligations and privileges. I am exhausted.

And yet, I would do it all again. Because THIS:

Every destination was a person. Every moment was together. Every celebration was community. Oh, how beautifully we are built for belonging. How wonderfully we are made for each other.

Please don’t forget that, love. Please don’t let this world tell you otherwise.

We are made for each other.

(Oh yeah, there was this one too).

Shoot like a Girl began as part of the #31days project. You can learn more about the “why” of my story and see all mydaily posts here. I’d love to stay in touch with you – be sure to subscribe to my blog to get updates on stories and special projects.

About Ronne Rock

LIFE. LOVE. LEADERSHIP. AND A LITTLE #KITCHENTHERAPY. Ronne Rock’s heart finds its strongest beat where beauty and pain collide – because hope always finds us in the shattered places. There’s more than 30 years of marketing and communications experience in her bones, and she finds great joy in sharing leadership wisdom as a regular contributor to Orange Leaders and QARA. But more often than not these days, she's with the vulnerable in difficult places around the world, gathering stories that change stories. Find Ronne's words in "For You, Love" the prayer journal that invites you to respond, and in Everbloom, a collection of stories from the Redbud Writers Guild. She is currently writing, "Building Eden: Principles of a Grace-Filled Leadership that Restores and Redeems."   Ronne is represented by Karen Neumair at Credo Communications.
