“Believe in a love that is being stored up for you like an inheritance, and have faith that in this love there is a strength and a blessing so large that you can travel as far as you wish without having to step outside it.” ~Rilke
“I didn’t even post a prayer today,” I texted her. It’s evening, and though I attempted to look through the journal pages today, life and travel and long conversations and playing peek-a-boo with a weary mom’s toddler on a train became the necessary things.
She responded, “That’s okay. It’s okay if you don’t but if you need one to post, just share this one you prayed for me last year.
“It will resonate. Share as is. It needs nothing more.”
I pray you continue to cling to Christ. I pray your words be so mingled with His words that people can’t help but be drawn to His love through them. I pray you will find such dependency on Him as you walk with brave shoes. I pray He truly becomes life in your veins. I pray for redemption upon redemption and transformation upon transformation on this journey of yours.
(I’m praying prayers tonight for you – and for me. Thank you, Melissa, for saving this one and giving it as a gift at just the right time. I love you, my friend.)
Last year, I shared the stories about pictures I’ve taken. This year during the month of October, I’m opening up my journal and sharing prayers. They’re not eloquent or poetic – they’re simple honest talks with God. Some prayers are joyful and some are screams. Some are said in the morning and some at night. It’s my hope the words might help someone else find the words.
